#SillySocksforaSafeHouse
This month is ‘Domestic Violence Awareness Month’ and Jolly Soles have partnered with DV Collective for the #SillySocksforaSafeHouse campaign.
DV Collective is a national domestic violence initiative, who works to ensure every victim of
domestic violence across Australia has access to the support they need to escape their unique situation and rebuild their lives. Jolly Soles has been working closely with Kylie Johanson, founder of DV Collective since mid-last year. Kylie’s own journey has been the driving force behind DV Collective.
The Silly Socks for a Safe House campaign help to raise money for essential items women and children need when entering a women’s refuge. It also assists in purchasing linen and bedding for the shelters themselves.

"The DV Collective support over 120 domestic violence services, including shelters. Women
are being turned away from shelters, every single day. There are just not enough beds.
Money raised from Silly Socks for a Safe House provide essential items such as toiletries,
underwear, clothing, nappies… for women and children fleeing domestic violence but also
provides essentials for the shelters. Bedding, linen and so much more.
The big goal is to build more shelters... but one step at a time. Every sock sold gets us
closer to the bigger goal.

As part of the campaign, pairs of Jolly Soles socks are for sale in various hotels across
Australia, including Marriott, Ibis, Novotel – part of the Accor Group, in collaboration with
the DV Collective.
Jolly Soles owner Tanya Pettingill said they were proud to support the fundraising initiative.
“We think the #SillySocksforaSafeHouse campaign is an incredible initiative, and we urge
anyone to pick up a pair of socks in support,” she said.
